I Am Not A Target by Alison Lang

I Am Not A Target

This is my reaction to the Sandy Hook school shooting where twenty children were shot. There are 20 dolls I made of plastic clay and wood. There are twenty dolls for the twenty killed. However, they do not look like the children killed. They represent any classroom of children or any child in the world. They each have a target on their shirt with a line though it and a message on their backs to inform the world that they are not targets.
THIS PIECE HAS BEEN SELECTED FOR ARTPRIZE IN GRAND RAPIDS, MI. IT WILL BE ON DISPLAY AT BETHLEHAM LUTHERN CHURCH SEPT. 24 to OCT 12,2014. Free to the public.
